Poison

Novice

Conjure Acid

Learning:  Summon the vile substance from deep within! By focusing on things of great disgust, a poison kitter can belch a ball of acid when ever they need to. The acid is launched a couple of yards out of the kitters mouth.

Usage: This is mostly useful in a lab setting however that doesn't stop it being used for other more devious ways. Some have been known to dissolve locks to break into places, others have burned kitters with it.

Limitations: The acid isn't the most active, although it can dissolve things like rock and metal it takes a very long time, the kitters that have been known to use it on locks have to leave it for hours and keep reapplying. Fortunately it even takes a long time on softer materials. If a kitter is splashed by this they will get a mild burning feeling that will go away if it’s washed within minutes, it would takes neglecting the acid for it to actually start burning the hair and skin.

Breathe Gas

Learning: As they have a natural connection to toxic materials, poison kitters can breathe any type of gas as if it was fresh mountain air. This is as simple as breathing but focusing your magic in your lungs. As it comes so naturally to poison kitters, it was originally believed to be a natural immunity rather than magic. They can also horde some of the foul gas inside them to exhale later; by picturing an image of holding something and focusing on it, a kitter can store a couple of deep breaths worth of gas inside them.

Usage:  A lot of poison kitters use this as an attack, breathing all sorts of harmful things into the faces of others. Some use it for hunting or for killing plants, and others use it defensively by either running into toxic gas so others can't follow or using their stored supply to create a small cloud around them.

Limitations: Breathing gases other than air is a bit harder than normal, a kitter won't feel the effects most of the time unless they start to exert themself by doing activities like running where they will find themself out of breath much quicker.  Fortunately the amount of gas that can be stored isn't a lot, they can create a small cloud of gas around them at most. It takes a lot of energy to store the gas especially in large amounts but doesn't take any to hold or realize it.

Identify Poison

Learning: By infusing magic into their skin, a poison kitter can learn the name and effects of a poison just by touching, though it takes a while for the magic to take its effect. Some kitters think that's because the knowledge needs to travel to the brain and others swear that licking the poison or pouring it on their head makes it faster, but there's no evidence to support this.

Usage: Knowing exactly what a poison dose makes using them a lot easier to use, and makes picking what to use against what a lot more simple. And knowing the name makes it a lot easier to get a hold of it.

Limitations: Knowing the name and abilities is all well and good, but doesn't help a kitter much when they still don't know other key information such as the ingredients or potency of a poison. Not knowing those can lead to under dosing someone and having nothing happen or overdosing and doing far more damage than intended, and not knowing it how to make it themself makes getting a hold of it more risky as they will be more easily caught after poisoning someone since other kitters would have seen them buy it or draw unwanted attention to themself by stealing it.

Nausea Touch

Learning: Channeling their magic into their palms with thoughts of illness a poison kitter can send a harmless magical shock wave into the body of another. It travels through the body until it reaches their gut and quickly becomes less than harmless. It stirs up their stomach and makes them feel sick, which can cause a kitter to be violently ill or feel just a bit off depending on how strong both kitters are. A more skilled kitter can learn how to target the ears as well as the stomach making the target dizzy and nauseous.

Usage: Apart from pulling mean pranks to embarrass others, this ability really works best in combat. Delivering dizzying blows with every punch making their foe unable to concentrate or fight back.

Limitations: Apart from taking a taking a good amount of focus(most kitters will need a lot of training to pull it off in stressful situations), a poison kitter is not immune to this ability and can easily use it on themselves by accident. The location of the touch affects the result, touching closer to the target creates a strong but brief feeling but far away creates a weak but long-lasting one.
