Kitter Keep
Meepery

The Meepery is where orphaned Meeps are taken care of. Contrary to the common stereotype of orphanages, however, the Meepery is a very warm and cozy place with a peaceful atmosphere. Fern, its owner, has made sure that the building is well-lit and comfortable, filling its rooms with mats and pillows. The Meeps residing inside are well-provided for and happy, and may think of themselves as brothers and sisters.

A cheery village located on the edge of Rock-A-Bye Bay and nestled between the Grand Forest and Sleeping Wood, Kitter Keep is one of the most well-known villages on the continent due to being the home of one of the largest caches of breeding crystals, Crystal Caverns, and of the famed Adventurer's Guild. Quick travel to the Capital is provided by a river that connects to Capital Lake.
The laws are quite relaxed and crime is relatively uncommon. Most outlaws prefer to avoid Kitter Keep due to the presence of the Adventurer's Guild. A strong small-town mentality connects the citizens of Kitter Keep in a close bond of friendship.
Abandoned Shack

Nothing to see here. This weathered, dilapidated shack rarely receives visitors, but legend has it that it was once home to a powerful necromancer. If you happen to come by it, hurry past - it is rumored that traces of dark energy still haunt the building, and daredevils exploring it have reported hearing a distant wailing. Located in a shadowy forest, the sounds of the place add to the shack’s spooky atmosphere. No one is exactly sure why it was abandoned, and no one exactly wants to find out, either…
Adventurer's Guild
Do you have a strong sense of adventure? Do you love catching bandits and investigating unfortunate events? Do you enjoy mapping out far-away lands? Then you’ll fit right in with the members of the Adventurer's Guild!
The Adventurer's Guild is home to the toughest and bravest Kitters. An average day in the guild consists of training and going on search and rescue missions through dangerous woods and swamps. They conduct explorations of unknown lands and assist the Sheriff with apprehending extremely dangerous criminals. Every day is filled with danger, but the members of the Adventurer's Guild welcome the thrill, persevering even when the odds are stacked against them.
Bakery

Is that a donut you smell? The glorious aroma of crisp cinnamon mingling with glazed sugar and rich chocolate can often be smelled wafting through the air by the bakery early in the morning. Through the corner of the window, a glass display holding sweet pies, yummy donuts, fresh pastries, and other delicious treats can be observed within the tiny shop. In another glass display, a few cornish pasties and sausage rolls invite those who don't wish for something sweet. Cheerful singing fills the air as Jerri the baker happily bakes his mouthwatering creations.
Blacksmith

The feel of searing heat and sound of clanging metal is a sure sign that you're near the blacksmith. Brand new tools and weapons, including pitchforks, swords, and hammers, rest on the shelves. Everything made here is known for being strong, durable, and long-lasting. Despite the blacksmith’s loud and hot environment, many Meeps love to come here to see Anvil work. He welcomes them, giving them life advice and encouragement while they watch.
Carpenter
A quiet little building dotted with wooden sculptures, art enthusiasts enjoy coming here just to admire Atlas' works. Atlas allows Kitters to watch him work as long as they keep their voices down and don't interrupt him. Kitters looking to purchase or repair wooden tools always come to him. His work may be slow and methodical, but it always results in good, reliable tools. Those wishing to have some of his art will be surprised to find that he doesn't sell them. Instead, he chooses Kitters to give each work for free.
Coliseum
Rumored to have been used to train warriors in ancient days, the Coliseum is now used to by the Adventurer’s Guild to teach Kitters how to use their elemental abilities. The enormous stadium is divided into sections that are each specialized towards one element. A miniature jungle for bloom affinity Kitters, a tiny flooded portion for water affinity Kitters, and devices that can generate fire and electricity are just some of what is available to help Kitters master their element. These sections are also used to acclimate Kitters to elements besides their own - after all, they never know what situations they’ll find themselves in when they’re exploring.
Every spring, a great tournament is held to test the elemental and physical prowess of the Kitters of Kitter Keep. The entire Coliseum is cleared to make room for the tournament events. Those seeking to demonstrate their physical strength can perform in gymnastics, track and field, archery, and many other sports. Others who want to show their skill for their element can participate either in contests that display the beauty of magic or sparring matches that exhibit the power of their elements.
Crystal Caverns
Arguably the most important and beautiful place in town, the Crystal Caverns are where Kitter Keep’s breeding crystals are grown. Nearly two miles of tunnels crawl under the city. No darkness hides within these caverns. Instead, shimmering crystals of red and green and every beautiful color line the walls, providing illumination and a soothing atmosphere. Few besides the Crystal Keeper have ever walked these paths. This is for good reason, as the crystals are very delicate. A careless Kitter running through the caverns could leave hundreds of crystals destroyed. The Crystal Keeper must remain ever vigilant to ensure that no one disturbs the crystals.
Doctor

Clean and organized, the local doctor’s office is run by Aberdale. The citizens if Kitter Keep know they can rely him to accurately diagnose and help them. Located on the southwest part of town, the Sleeping Wood can be seen from here. Whenever Aberdale’s mate, Nimbly, visits to deliver medicinal herbs, he welcomes her with a loving nuzzle. The two are considered one of Kitter Keep's most adorable couples.
Library
The Library is arguably the most beautiful building in Kitter Keep. Its soaring walls are stacked high with bookshelves, and windows span full walls of this magnificent building. From sorcery to science, books on every subject imaginable stock the shelves, and the librarian, Hazel, will be happy to assist you if you need to find a book. Overall, the library is a very inspiring and wonderful place, and you don't need to like books to enjoy it.
Magic Shop

The front of this store consists of mainly parlor tricks and gag toys. However, farther in the back, the walls are riddled with various books on the magical elements, such as what they are, their known history, and of course, what you can do with them. Along with the books are special items, such as scarves and bandannas, that claim to increase magic ability. Some Kitters notice that the book on the life and death elements is suspiciously close to the parlor tricks.
Kitter Keep
Moonbrick Farm
Moonbrick Farm is the main supplier of fresh produce in Kitter Keep. Although its fields cultivate everything from wheat to corn, the farm is most famous for its Moonberries, which are said to grow nowhere else on Ostaria. Rukk, the keeper of Moonbrick Farm, makes these delicious silver berries into a variety of treats, from pie to jam to turnovers, and sells them at a stand in front of the farm. Rukk’s house is located just beyond the stand.
Nimby's House

Located in the forest, Nimby’s house is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Rows of herbs and pretty flowers brighten the front yard. Nimbly can often be seen beside these plants, telling them that they’re doing great and look wonderful. The inside of the house is quaint and cozy, with antiques sitting beside a bookshelf of botany books. Those looking for the best herb spices or medicinal herbs in Kitter Keep need not look further than Nimby’s house.
Pet Shop
How much is that Terra Pup in the window? Who knows while you’re standing outside the shop! If you care to take a gander inside, you’ll find many top-open glass cages containing the many pet species of Ostaria! Smaller tanks and wire cages found on the surrounding shelves contain some of the smaller animals, such as fish and reptiles. There are also many pet-related supplies located on small shelves in the middle of the store.
The Pier

Aside from Gobble, Guts, a few other fishermen, and those listening to Gobble’s stories, the Pier is usually quite empty. Only half a dozen to a dozen fishing boats are needed to catch enough fish for Kitter Keep. Few have any reason to sail out into the horizon, as the Silent Ocean awaits all who venture so far. The only large ships that visit are those that travel the continent’s coastline to transport goods between the Grand Forest, the Tropics, and adventurers who are exploring the untamed wilds.
Whenever one of these great ships visits, a small crowd of Kitters swarms the Pier to see the strong sailors. Excited Meeps often barrage the sailors with questions about pirates, the Silent Ocean, and life on the sea. Every once and a while, the sailors will let one or two Meeps join their crew as a cabin boy if their parents permit it.
The Lantern
The most popular tavern in Kitter Keep, the Lantern is a classy establishment where Kitters can relax and chat with each other after a hard day. A jazz band providing ambient music and colorful glowstones imported from the Dead Swamp give the establishment a different atmosphere from the rest of town. Karaoke is available every weekend, comedy shows performed by Rukk provide levity and humor, and of course, the best drinks in all of Kitter Keep are available for patrons.
Post Office

This is where you can bring mail and packages to send to your friends! Or enemies. . . You can also often find Cricket here. Rumours say he lives here, though who knows if he does or not… There are two ways of sending mail here. On the outside of the building, there is a chute for letters that can be used at anytime. To send larger packages, you’ll need to go inside and register them, meaning that they can only be sent during the day time. Letters and packages will arrive the week they are sent. Those willing to pay a premium can have the packages arrive the very next day.
Rukk's House
A quaint little log cabin, Rukk’s house is the oldest structure in Kitter Keep. It holds only four small rooms, but Rukk’s family has never even thought of expanding the house, instead choosing to keep it exactly how their pioneer ancestors designed it. Pictures depicting every generation of Rukk’s family hang on the walls.
A line of oak trees stands on the side of the house. Each tree was planted whenever a new member of Rukk’s family was born. The most ancient trees, nearly three centuries old, represent the first members of Rukk’s family. The most recent trees that have recently sprouted represent Rukk’s three children.
Shady Pawn Shop

Need a deal done without questions? Looking for a unique, antique, or downright unusual item? Then Filch’s Pawn Shop is just what you're looking for! This shop promises complete secrecy on any deal done as long as Filch receives his payment. Caution is advised for those looking to purchase one of the shop’s more unique items, as Filch will do his best to scam as much money as he can out of his customers.
Sheriff's Office
Newcomers to Kitter Keep often find themselves surprised by the friendly atmosphere of the sheriff's office. This is because most of the outlaws in the prison cells are just young, misguided Kitters who need a kind heart to set them straight. The sheriff, Tumble, is more than willing to be the friend who helps these Kitters out.
Should there be a truly dangerous prisoner that poses an honest threat to the citizens of Kitter Keep, a special cell lined with Nullstones imported from Clawtooth Islands is ready to hold them. These unique stones completely nullify a Kitter's elemental abilities. Thankfully, this cell hasn't been needed for years.
Tailor
Looking for comfortable, fashionable clothing? Perhaps you have a hole or rip in your vest that you need sown up quickly? Then you've come to the right place! The tailor, Mint, can make almost any custom design you want or sew any tears you made in just a few hours.
Stepping inside will reveal clothing of all sorts hanging on racks awaiting the next buyer. Thick winter sweaters, pretty summer dresses, fancy tuxedos, and every other clothing a Kitter could need hang on display. If these aren't to your liking, then you can always ask Mint to make a custom design.
Theatre
One of the most popular places of entertainment in town, the theatre is known for its acclaimed plays and for being a very popular topic of discussion in Kitter Keep. Many Kitters simply enjoy chatting about the latest play or who their favorite actor is. Others savor the guilty pleasure that comes with discussing the gossip and rumors that abound in regard to the two theatre owners, Haolyn and Jaequin. Where did Jaequin come from? Why did Haolyn help him? Are they a couple?

However, not every member of the guild spends their days rescuing people. Many older adventurers, along with a couple younger members who have some spare time, provide classes for Kitters aiming to master their elements. They enjoy sharing with their students the knowledge that has saved them from danger on their past adventures.
So what are you waiting for? Do you want to be an adventurer? Perhaps you want to master your element? Then head on over today!
