Abilities Meeps Start With

Every Kitter possesses unique, elemental powers. Although most elemental skills can only be learned and mastered during adulthood, every Meep has one ability that they are naturally able to use from birth.

Original Six

fire.png

        Hot Pocket

Usage: When a fire affinity Kitters gets mad or excited, their body heats up a little, becoming hot to touch. When they're sad or upset, their body releases heat, making them feel cold to touch.

Limitations: This is purely a reflex reaction. Just like how one flinches when they touch at thorn, a fire affinity Kitter’s body heat is connected to their emotions. They cannot actually hurt anyone with this ability, their heat shifting only ten to fifteen degrees. Once they get older, they can learn how to control this ability by enrolling in classes that teach them how to master their element.

        Breathe Bubbles

Usage: Parents often find it adorable to watch their little baby blow a bubble out of their mouth. Although water affinity Kitters can control their bubbles most of the time, they have a tendency to sometimes create them out of reflex when they hiccup, cough, or sneeze.

Limitations: This ability can't actually do anything useful. It’s useless against fire and certainly can't ward off attackers or wild animals.

earth.png

        Rubble

Usage: Earth affinity Kitters can manipulate one to five pubbles, the amount depending on their skill and talent. Many earth affinity Kitters enjoy playing games, such as marbles, with this ability. Others like to compete to see who can control more pebbles than the other.

Limitations: Only extremely talented or skilled Kitters can learn to control four or five pebbles. Most are only able to control three pebbles. Additionally, any piece of earth larger than a pencil can't be controlled without enrolling in classes to master their element.

air.png

        Springy Steps

Usage: Leap high into the sky! Air affinity Kitters can naturally jump up to ten feet and land with no injuries, provided that they land on their feet. Many of these Kitters like to have jumping contests with each other.

Limitations: This ability requires constant supervision, as the Kitters can be seriously injured if they do not land on their feet. Should they land on any other body part after leaping ten feet in the air, the fall will impact their bodies the same way as if they fell ten feet.

light.png

        Fireflies

Usage: Who needs a fireflies when you have an affinity for light? These Kitters can create tiny harmless orbs of light that can be used to entertain friends or guide someone on a path. Although light affinity Kitters can control their firefly lights most of the time, they have a tendency to sometimes create them out of reflex when they hiccup, cough, or sneeze.

Limitations: These lights shine as bright as a firefly, making them a poor choice for lighting up a dark room. Attempting to make them brighter or create hundreds at once will only exhaust the Kitter.

        Shadow Puppets

Usage: Who’s ready for a good prank scare? These Kitters can manipulate one to five small shadows, bending them into different shapes. This is sometimes used by mischievous Kitters to play tricks on their friends by putting scary or goofy shadows on the walls. Some Kitters like to compete to see who can control the most shadows.

Limitations: Any shadow larger than a Kitter’s head can't be controlled without enrolling in classes to master their element. Only the most talented or skilled Kitters can control four or five shadows, with the average number being three.

Secondary Elements

        Cough

Usage: Don't worry, that smoke you see isn't from a fire. These Kitters can breathe small puffs of smoke from their nose and mouth. They sometimes feel self-conscious about this since they know many Kitters dislike the smell of smoke.

Limitations: The Kitters has as little control over this ability as their ability to breathe. They can only stop breathing smoke by holding their breathe or taking classes to master their element. Thankfully, the smoke puffs are small enough to dissipate rather than fill a room with smoke.

        Goldenrod

Usage: Who needs metal detectors when you have an affinity for metal? These Kitters can sense pockets of minerals and metals underground and aboveground. This can be useful for finding lost keys or coins.

Limitations: Metal that is buried deeper than four feet in the ground or more than seven feet away can't be sensed without enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element.

luck.png

        Lucky Clover

Usage: Feeling lucky? These Kitters have a natural self-defense function where if they are in danger, their element will manipulate probability to shift the odds in their favor. For example, if a Kitter is about to drown, their element will increase the chances that they are rescued. If they are in a fire, a sudden sprinkle of rain might start pouring down on the fire.

Limitations: This ability cannot be controlled without enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element. It only triggers when the Kitters’s life is at risk and is not guaranteed to save them. However, many superstitious Kitters mistakenly believe that these Kitters are lucky at everything.

ink.png

        Scribbler

Usage: Rather than waste money on pens, these Kitters can produce small amounts of ink from paw tips/claws/tail-tip to write and draw with. Some Meeps have trouble learning how to not drip ink everywhere, but they eventually learn to control this as they grow older.

Limitations: Without enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element, these Kitters can't learn how to produce more ink than an ordinary fountain pen.

energy.png

        Energized

Usage: True to their energetic nature, these Kitters only require four hours of sleep each day to fully refresh their bodies.

Limitations: None

balance.png

        Dreamy Aura

Usage: A soothing aura surrounds these Kitters when they sleep, preventing them and anyone around them from having nightmares.

Limitations: Only Kitters within a six feet radius are protected from nightmares. Additionally, this aura can be rendered useless by dark, magical influences designed to circumvent this defense.

weather.png

        Drizzle

Usage: Need some rain? These Meeps can produce a tiny raincloud that is just large enough to water a single flower.

Limitations: Larger rainclouds cannot be produced without enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element.

ice.png
bloom.png

        Sweet Scent

Usage: What's that lovely scent? These Kitters can emit a soothing, sweet aroma that smells like a flower. The type of flower that the Kitter’s ability smells like is different for every Kitter.

Limitations: Using this ability too long can wear out a Kitter. Enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element can teach them learn how to use the ability longer and create more than one flower scents.

        Frosty

Usage: Is it snowing? No, an ice affinity Kitter is probably nearby. These Kitters can breathe puffs of snowflakes. Although ice affinity Kitters can control their snowflakes most of the time, they have a tendency to sometimes create them out of reflex when they hiccup, cough, or sneeze.

Limitations: Creating more than a few snowflakes requires one to enroll in classes for mastering one’s element.

electricity.png

        Static

Usage: Feel a little shock when touching these Kitters’ fur? That's because of their ability to generate a static cling effect. Some mischievous Meeps like to use this ability to make a Kitters fur poof up.

Limitations: A harmful amount of electricity cannot be created without enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element.

explosives.png

        Firecracker

Usage: BANG! What was that!? These Meeps can make tiny objects pop, similar to bang snaps. Many prankster Meeps love using this ability for pranks.

Limitations: Only extremely tiny objects can be affected by this ability. Making larger objects explode requires one to enroll in classes for mastering one’s element.

poison.png

Forbidden Elements

        Immunity

Usage: These Kitters cannot be poisoned.

Limitations: There is one toxin designed specifically for poison affinity Kitters that can bypass this ability. However, the method to making this poison has been lost to time.

sin.png

        Bad Influence

Usage: Be careful when speaking to these Kitters. This ability makes them seem charismatic and trustworthy to others. While most can easily resist the influence, those aren't paying attention may find themselves agreeing to something without even thinking.

Limitations: Only Kitters who already trust sin affinity Kitters can be affected by this ability. Influencing those who don't trust sin affinity Kitters requires one to enroll in classes for mastering one’s element.

        Floater

Usage: Why would you walk when you can hover? These Kitters can casually float about one to three feet off the ground.

Limitations: Floating higher than three feet requires one to enroll in classes for mastering one’s element.

        Contagious

Usage: Feeling ill? Maybe a plague affinity Kitter gave you a disease! These Kitters are able to give other Kitters minor illnesses, such as a cold or stomach ache. Some plague affinity Kitters are afraid to go near others for fear that they'll make others sick.

Limitations: This ability cannot be controlled without enrolling in classes for mastering one’s element. Deadly diseases cannot be caused by this ability.
