Kitter Keep NPCs

“A new visitor! Welcome to Kitter Keep! I hope you enjoy our little town! Here, have a welcome gift.”

Exuberant, quirky, and full of endless energy, Razzle loves welcoming new faces to Kitter Keep. Every time a new person enters the town, Razzle is there to greet them with a bright smile. How they know someone is new to town or always manages to appear the moment the person steps into Kitter Keep is still a mystery. Their way of greeting someone is always different. Sometimes they’ll have a pie or cake from the bakery ready for the newcomer. Other times, they’ll give wooden sculptures carved by Flintwick. Some tourists have even reported that Razzle broke into a song and dance routine right in front of them.

No one is quite sure when Razzle arrived in town. Some wonder if Razzle is related to Jaequin because they both share very quirky personalities. All that everyone really knows is that one day, newcomers were suddenly finding themselves being greeted by the odd Kitter. Though Razzle may be extremely peculiar and even cartoony at times, the citizens of Kitter Keep let them continue their antics since visitors have said that they like being welcomed by Razzle.

- Non-binary

- Energy affinity

- Enjoys stargazing

- Addicted to sugar

- Loves giving hugs

- Often sings with Jerri at the Lantern

- Wants to put a smile on the face of every newcomer

Razzle; Group Mascot

Razzle; Group Mascot

Tibby; Jack of All Trades

Cricket; Local Messenger

Tibby; Jack of All Trades
Cricket; Local Messenger

"Hiya! Nice to meet you and welcome to Kitter Keep! Hope you have a great day!”

Charismatic, friendly, and always curious, Tibby doesn’t seem to serve a specific job in Kitter Keep, instead bouncing around to wherever she’s needed. Finding Tibby can sometimes be difficult due to all of the different places she likes to help out at. The best tip to keep in mind when looking for her is to remember that she loves children. She often babysits salvaged crystals and Meeps at the Hatchery and spends her spare time playing with Meeps in the center of town.

Tibby knows nearly everyone in town due to her magnetic personality and the fact that she’s served as an apprentice to many of the citizens. This is how she acquired her large toolbelt of skills. She learned geology under Amethyst’s tutelage as a Crystal Keeper apprentice, woodwork as a carpenter apprentice, bookkeeping at the library, ect. She seems perfectly content to keep acquiring new skills and help out whoever needs help rather than tie herself down to a single job. Her curiosity is always itching to try out new things.

- Electric affinity

- Terrified of bugs

- Snorts when laughing

- Beautiful singing voice

- One of Amethyst’s few friends

- Becomes hyperactive when she drinks coffee

“Hello, I'm Cricket from the KKP. Would you mind if I asked you a few questions?”

A busy journalist who enjoys chatting with people, Cricket single-handedly manages the KKP (Kitter Keep Post). He's typically busy delivering letters or interviewing people for his next big article. His writing is direct and powerful, grabbing people's attention and influencing their opinions. On the few days during which he has some spare time, he likes to practice his element.

Cricket doesn't like mentioning his affinity for poison to people due to the negative stigma of possessing a forbidden element. He's been working to master his element so that he can use it in positive ways, such as removing toxins from a Kitter’s body or developing non-lethal toxins for incapacitating dangerous criminals. Only his passion for journalism matches his passion for wanting to fully master his element. He's currently working on a book that speaks of the good that the forbidden elements can do and why they shouldn't be banned or looked down upon.

- Favorite food is cheese pizza

- Paces back and forth when nervous

- Can easily tell when someone is lying

- Completely oblivious to romance and flirting

- Always trying to convince Guts to do an interview on the Silent Ocean

Fern; Meep Keeper

Fern; Meep Keeper

“I'll be with you in a moment! It's the Meeps’ naptime.”

Kind and thoughtful, Fern works at the Meepery, taking care of Meeps summoned from unclaimed crystals. An orphan himself, the bloom-affinity Kitter is determined to give the Meeps under his care the best lives possible. He dedicates every moment to them, and although he is often exhausted and frazzled at the end of the day, he loves his job very much and wouldn't want any other.

Fern was raised in the Meepery by a kind, compassionate, old Kitter. As Fern matured, he began to take on more and more tasks around the Meepery. When the kindly caretaker passed away, Fern knew he wanted to follow in his footsteps and take over the Meepery. Ever since then, he's worked there in memory of his first guardian.

- Meditates often

- Bloom-affinity

- Likes green tea

- Good at singing

- Favorite color is soft green

Filch; Pawn Shopkeeper

Filch; Pawn Shopkeeper

"You looking to buy something? No? Then scram!”

Cranky and greedy, Filch is supposedly a reformed con artist. Those who have purchased items from his shop say otherwise, though. Filch has scammed several citizens of Kitter Keep, always making sure that his tricks are “technically” legal. Those who wish to get a fair

deal on his merchandise will find themselves in

a battle of haggling against one of the most

skilled bargainers in Kitter Keep. Despite his untrustworthiness and selfishness, not everyone

hates him. Some enjoy hearing tales of his youth.

Filch’s mysterious injuries are the source of many

rumors. Not only is the con artist missing a leg and

finger, but he’s also lost all but one of his whiskers.

Due to this, he can't use his elemental abilities. Filch is usually quite hesitant to speak of his younger days, but purchasing a few things from his shop works wonders to make him more open. Sometimes he says that he fought in the Frozen Wastes as a mercenary, sometimes he claims he was a pirate, and other times he whispers that he escaped the Clawtooth Islands at the cost of his whiskers. Many think the injuries are probably a result of him scamming the wrong people.

- Loves spicy food

- Allergic to chocolate

- Secretly has a crush on Amethyst

- Highly skeptical of superstitious beliefs

- Surprisingly skilled fighter despite the loss of his elemental powers

- Claims to have previously wielded a collection of elements including Sin, Void, Fire, Metal, Poison, Smoke, Ink and Explosives

Tumble; Sheriff

Tumble; Sheriff

"Haven't seen ya around here before. Are ya new? Well, as long as ya make sure to remember the laws, I'm sure we'll get along great!”

Optimistic and full of pep, Tumble became Kitter Keep’s sheriff only just under a year ago. Her outgoing, friendly nature is sometimes mistaken for naivete, but don’t underestimate her. She makes up for her inexperience with dogged determination and an incorruptible sense of justice.

Ever since her family was saved from bandits by the sheriff when she was a little Meep, Tumble has wanted to become a sheriff herself. She worked hard to uphold the values of a good sheriff even in school, always standing up to bullies and defending helpless classmates. Now that she's accomplished her dream, she's determined not to fail. However, she can also be quite outspoken and quick to judge, resulting in her sometimes accusing the wrong person. She's still well-liked in Kitter Keep, though, as people know she'll always try to do what she thinks is right.

- Terrible cook

- Energy affinity

- Highly competitive

- One of Amethyst’s few friends

- Nicknamed “Spots” by her close friends

- Loves to run, jogging three miles every morning

"A dangerous dungeon filled with traps? Sounds like fun! Where do I sign up?”

Brash and courageous, Rinley is considered by many to be the most daring member of the Adventurer's Guild. He’s led dozens of explorations through vicious lands, rescued countless Kitters, and captured some of the most notorious outlaws in Ostaria. Though he may be carefree and light-hearted, only a fool would dare to challenge him. There is never a moment when he isn’t ready to face danger to protect others.

Rinley enjoys telling others about his past adventures. Although he may come across as boastful and impulsive to some, he is actually quite clever, being able to feel if he cannot win a fight or if there is a better solution to a problem. Those who know him well say that it is not his bravery, but his wit and resourcefulness, that has allowed him to survive so many dangers for so many years.

- Gilda’s Son

- Luck affinity

- Loves chocolate

- Secretly terrified of clowns

- Doesn’t know who his Father is

- Currently in a relationship with Hazel

Rinley; Leader of the Adventuer's Guild

Mint; Tailor

“A custom design is no issue, sir. By my calculations, I will have this finished in approximately four hours. You may come pick it up then.”

A practical realist, Mint has no time for nonsense or jokes. When he begins a task, he sets out to complete it as efficiently as possible and refuses to allow himself to be distracted. He follows the exact same routine every day. As a result, he's earned a reputation in Kitter Keep for being reliable, persistent, and very boring.

Despite being repeatedly told by his twin sister, Lolly, that he needs to “be more fun”, Mint prefers to keep to his boring daily schedule. Lately, however, he's been taking time away from his routine to spend time with Lolly and Iris. This is mainly because he's developed a crush on Iris. He admires her talent for art and how responsible she is. His normally calm demeanor turns sheepish and shy whenever she's near him, and he can't help but smile when she talks to him.

Mint is very close to his twin sister. When they were Meeps, he always stood up to bullies that wanted to pick on Lolly for having dyslexia. Many Kitters don't know that Mint is ranked third place for “Best Dancing Duo” in Ostaria with Lolly. Dancing is his greatest passion. Every morning, he visits the pet shop to practice his dance moves with Lolly.

- Earth affinity

- Loves fantasy novels

- Favorite food is blueberries

- Speaks with a sophisticated, proper tone

- Enjoys watching plays at the theatre on weekends

- Afraid of swimming due to nearly drowning when he was a Meep

Rinley; Adventurer's Guild Leader
Mint; Tailor
Lolly; Pet Shopkeeper

Lolly; Pet Shopkeeper

“Just imagine it. A candlelit dinner, romantic music playing the background, and a beautiful starry night. They'll look into each other's eyes and realize their love! I'm going to go set it up right now! Trust me, those two belong together!”

A helpless romantic, Lolly has adored nature and animals ever since she was a little Meep. She loves all wildlife, including those considered monsters. Her talent with animals is matched by few, with even the most standoffish of animals coming to trust her after a few minutes. Any animal that has ever lived at the pet shop gets excited when they see Lolly.

Lolly loves matchmaking Kitters who she thinks are just right for each other. Her brother, Mint, argues that if two Kitters are perfect for each other, then she should let their love develop naturally. However, Lolly says that sometimes love needs a little nudge from a friend. Naturally, she's more than happy to be that friend. Ironically, every date she's been on herself has resulted in disaster.

Many Kitters don't know that Lolly is ranked third place for “Best Dancing Duo” in Ostaria with her twin brother, Mint. Dancing is her second-greatest passion behind her love for animals. When no one is in the pet shop, Lolly likes to put on some music and dance. This has sometimes resulted in a customer entering the pet shop and stumbling on Lolly while she is in the middle of an impressive dance move.

- Best friend is Iris

- Air Affinity

- Favorite food is spaghetti

- Has trouble reading due to being dyslexic

- Has never studied how to master her element

- Keeps a bright pink diary that no one is allowed to read

- Admires her twin brother for protecting her from bullies when they were Meeps

“The skill potions are down Aisle Five. For your situation, though, I’d suggest a courage booster; maybe a luck potion?”

Chatty and bright, Iris is the light-affinity adopted daughter of the alchemists, Nick and Farah. She’s very responsible as a result of watching over the alchemy shop and taking care of her little brother, Twitch, when her parents are away on journeys. She has memorized the contents of every shelf and is working on a written inventory so that she can be more helpful.

Iris enjoys painting and sells some of her work at the alchemy shop. She usually illustrates alchemical objects and bottles, but occasionally takes requests if she’s got time to spare. She is a friendly and optimistic Kitter, often making conversation with customers. Unlike her mostly reclusive parents, she’s very social and enjoys spending time with friends.

Iris is very protective of her younger brother, Twitch, due to his fearful demeanor. When her parents are away, she almost never leaves the shop so that Twitch won’t be alone. She cares very much about him and would be crushed if anything were to happen to him.

- Best friend is Lolly

- Has a crush on Mint

- Loves fantasy novels

- Favorite food is blackberries

- Skilled at her element; tried to learn air affinity abilities

- Room has a full-wall window and strings of prisms hanging from the ceiling

Iris; Alchemy Shopkeeper

twitch.png

Twitch; Alchemists' Son

“A-a-are you insane?! You’re-you’re going to get us all killed!”

Loud and jumpy, Twitch is the opposite of his sister Iris. Where she’s bright and confident, he’s more pessimistic and paranoid. Despite their differences, they get along very well. He greatly admires Iris and enjoys spending time with her primarily because he believes that she’s the only sane person in the family.

Recently adopted by Nick and Farah, Kitter Keep’s alchemists, Twitch still isn’t quite adjusted to the constant explosions caused by Nick. He can’t stand the danger of alchemy, preferring to work on small gadgets because he can trust that he is in full control of them and knows they won’t burst into flame at the slightest wrong move. Twitch has developed a heavy stutter due to his tendency to just burst into shouting at anyone or anything that startles him.

Iris; Alchemy Shopkeeper
Twitch; Alchemists' Son

Twitch is highly nihilistic, causing him to typically be brash and not concern himself with others’ feelings. Despite this, he often feels bad when he hurts the select few close to him.

True to his name, Twitch is very animated and fidgety, but he’s not afraid of other Kitters. Due to his paranoia, however, he doesn’t try to make conversation with unfamiliar Meeps very often, believing that most strangers are out to get him. As a result, he has few friends beyond his family.

- Energy-affinity

- Likes to tinker

- When it comes to fight or flight, he’s surprisingly more likely to fight

- Often stays awake for days at a time until he passes out from exhaustion

Nick and Farah; Alchemists

Nick and Farah; Alchemists

Farah: “All right, let’s begin the second phase of the experiment.”

Nick: “I wonder if it’ll explode!”

Farah: “The purpose of the experiment is to find a compound that won’t explode, not one that will.”

Nick: “By finding ones that do explode, we can have more fun and use process of elimination to find the one that doesn’t explode!”

Kitter Keep has two alchemists: Nick and his mate, Farah. Shrouded in mystery, the two are very antisocial and rarely venture beyond their shop. They have been known to go on long quests beyond Kitter Keep to find exotic ingredients for one thing or another, leaving their daughter, Iris, to run the alchemy shop and watch her little brother, Twitch.

Nick, an explosive-affinity Kitter, is a skilled alchemist. He spends most of his time experimenting and concocting solutions. If a particular experiment fails, he is undeterred, instead trying again with slightly different combinations. No one can deny his perseverance or intelligence, although his sanity is another thing entirely. A patient and collected balance-affinity Kitter, Farah is best at combining and preparing ingredients. If

something around the shop needs to be done, she's usually the one to do it. She also takes care of her family's worldly needs, such as food. She will occasionally train an apprentice, but most of the time, she leaves this task to Nick. No one is sure how these two met. Although they may seem at odds occasionally, they love each other very much and could not imagine life without each other. Rumor has it that their first Meep was not Iris, but a sin-affinity Kitter. These rumors are impossible to prove, but neither alchemist has ever denied it.

- Adopted Iris and Twitch

- Both enjoy mystery novels

- Nick enjoys spicy foods, Farah loves sweets foods

- Nick is one of the few Kitters in Kitter Keep to reach the Mage level of elemental mastery

Jerri; Baker

“Ah, I see you've noticed my newest treat! This two layer cake combines rich chocolate with zesty lemon. Would you like to try a little slice?”

Pleasant and fun, Jerri can often be heard filling the bakery with his dulcet tones. He loves people, sometimes even letting well-behaved Meeps have a free cookie now and then. His love for singing and baking fills the bakery with cheer, making it difficult for anyone to leave without a smile. On weekends, Jerri often sings at the Lantern, entertaining everyone with his beautiful melodies.

Jerri offers singing lessons and baker apprenticeships for a fair price. If someone who he believes has potential is low on money, he'll give them lessons for free. In the end, he teaches not for money, but because he wants to help others reach their full potential. He believes that one should always do their best to help others in need no matter how difficult it may be.

- Clumsy

- Fire affinity

- Allergic to roses

- Loves classical music

- Enjoys mystery novels

- Has a Googator named Honey

- Believes that void affinity Kitters should be treated fairly

Jerri; Baker
Amethyst; Crystal Keeper

Amethyst; Crystal Keeper

“Huh? What do you want? Quiet down, you’re hurting my ears. Go pester someone else.”

There are few who actually like Amethyst. Introverted, blunt, and often grumpy, Amethyst dislikes having to deal with people, especially if they’re kids. Her stinginess with giving out crystals combined with her unpleasant personality has made her a very unpopular Kitter. However, the few friends she has know her true nature.

Ever since she was a child, Amethyst has absolutely adored studying geology and crystals. Many considered this quite odd considering that her affinity was for water, not earth or metal. However, she didn’t allow herself to be dissuaded. After decades of studying and hard work, she accomplished her goal of becoming the Crystal Keeper. Now she’s free to walk the Crystal Caverns and see their beauty every day.

Amethyst loves the caverns and knows just how fragile they are. A single Meep running through the tunnels

could accidentally break hundreds of crystals. Additionally, Amethyst believes that crystals should only be given to Kitters who have demonstrated that they are mature enough to handle the responsibility. She knows others don’t like her very much. However, she believes that protecting the crystals and making sure that they are given only to those who are ready is far more important than people liking her.

- Likes cheesy romance novels

- Favorite food is strawberry cake

- Only friends are Tumble and Tibby

- Enjoys slow dancing to classical music

- Tried to learn earth affinity abilities when she was a Meep

Hazel; Libarian

Hazel; Librarian

“Oh, sorry! I didn't see you waving to me. Do you need any help? Are there any particular books you're looking for?”

Bashful and studious, Hazel loves reading. He possesses an immense curiosity for learning how the world functions, often spending his spare time reading about the elements or science. However, he never allows his love for learning to interfere with his librarian duties, doing his best to keep everything organized and help Kitters find what books they’re looking for. He has a tendency to put too much pressure on himself to not fail, though.

Unbeknownst to most, Hazel loves writing even more than he loves reading. Every night, he spends some time writing stories by candlelight. Although his stories are very good, he hasn’t published them because he’s convinced that he’s not a very good writer. He’s only shown what he’s written to his closest friend, Hekate, and his mate, Rinley.

- Ink affinity

- Terrible artist

- Favorite color is light blue

- Has a sweet tooth for pastries

- Despite his love of science, adventure novels are his favorite genre

- Once stayed up a whole night writing, resulting in him falling asleep in the middle of the library the next day

Gilda; Storyteller

Gilda; Storyteller

“Hello, little one. Are you doing well? Ah, so you have come to me for advice. Well, sit and relax. You certainly won't be able to find a solution while you're so stressed.”

Wise and caring, Gilda is the oldest citizen in Kitter Keep, having just recently celebrated her 304th birthday. As a Starmaker, she possesses extraordinary longevity and an unusually strong affinity for the element of light. She is well known as one of the best storytellers in all of Kitter Keep, her ability to weave a tale matched only by Gobble. Her stories are usually about ancient myths and legends that she insists are true. Oddly enough, Gilda has refused all requests for her to pair up with Gobble to tell a story.

Gilda calls everyone who is not a Starmaker a “little one” due to being much older than even elderly Kitters. Although she is quite forgetful, she is still an excellent teacher to those looking to master the element of light. The Adventurer's Guild occasionally invites Gilda to teach new students how to master this element. However, no gift is more valuable than Gilda’s advice.

There are few in Kitter Keep who can give better advice than Gilda. Her wisdom, collected over the course of more than two centuries, is matched by few on the continent. She can simplify complicated advice into a few simple words of wisdom. However, Gilda is also extremely prejudiced against the void element and forbidden elements, viewing them as corrupt and untrustworthy. These Kitters try to stay away from her, for she is as rude to them as she is caring and kind to others.

- Enjoys jazz music

- Likes to bake berry pies

- Loves her son, Rinley, more than anything

- Lost her mother to a void affinity outlaw when she was ten

- One of the few Kitters in Kitter Keep to reach the Mage level of elemental mastery

- Visits the cemetery every year to remember friends who died of old age over a century ago

“Good day! It’s a lovely day, isn’t it? I’ve got some new items if you want to take a look! Oh, would you like a donut? I’m almost finished with this box, but you can have what’s left.”

A kindhearted goofball who sometimes acts a little oblivious, Bacon is one of the most likable kitters in Kitter Keep. He can usually be found at the Lantern or bakery happily eating sweets...when he's in town. Bacon often travels and will find himself far and wide outside of the reaches of the small town. Those looking for rare or unique items will not be disappointed if they catch Bacon selling at the marketplace. He has a large variety of items that can’t be found anywhere else on Ostaria, including ancient books, maps containing secret routes, and even a couple stones from the Clawtooth Islands that can nullify a Kitter’s elemental powers. How he acquired these items is still a mystery, but Bacon insists that this remain a secret…

Bacon likes to wear a long cloak that he claims makes him look “more mysterious” for his job as a dealer of rare items. Some Kitters suspect that his goofy personality is just an act, as many of his wares are certainly not easy to acquire. Others wonder if Bacon is even his real name.

- Void Affinity

- Hates the cold

- Plays the trumpet

- Never loses at card games

- Favorite food is pretty much everything

- Surprisingly agile and stealthy despite his size

Bacon; The Traveler

Bacon; Rare Item Dealer
Cobalt; Teacher

Cobalt; Teacher

"Good morning, students! Did you have a good week?”

Vibrant and expressive, Cobalt loves his job as a teacher. Despite being quite young, having only held his job for a couple years, Cobalt has proven to be a brilliant teacher who understands children and can make complicated subjects sound simple. His parents are displeased with him, saying that he's wasted his intelligence by throwing away the opportunity for an important job at the Capital just to teach in Kitter Keep instead. However, Cobalt argues that there's no other place he'd rather be.

Cobalt becomes quite animated when teaching. He rarely follows the textbooks, instead encouraging his students to think creatively and come up with their own theories. If a science book says something will happen, he asks his students, “Now why will this happen?”, has them form a hypothesis, and then lets them think of an experiment to test their hypothesis. His favorite subject is history. Rather than accept the history book’s point of view, Cobalt teaches his students to search for bias and figure out the author’s views based on what how events are shown in the book, and come up with their own opinion on the events.

Students love Cobalt for his patience, funny jokes, and contagious enthusiasm. However, many parents are concerned by some of Cobalt’s views. He has said nothing negative about forbidden breeding, leading to rumors that he's in support of unbanning forbidden breeding. Cobalt has been very careful when speaking on this subject, as he could lose his job were it to be proven that he sees the stigma against the void element as unfair prejudice.

Whenever he's near Tumble, Cobalt finds himself blushing and stuttering. A goofy smile fills his face as he watches her. He denies that he has feelings for her, saying that it's doubtful that she notices him anyway. Despite this, a few of his students have made it their goal to matchmake the two, some even teaming up with Lolly to accomplish this goal. However, these efforts have usually only resulted in embarrassing Cobalt.

- Afraid of heights

- Likes playing checkers

- Doesn't believe in superstition

- Air Affinity

- Voice sometimes becomes a little squeaky when he gets excited

- Is helping Cricket write a book about the good that the forbidden elements can do

Trinket; The Lantern Barkeeper

"That sounds terrible! Now I know you must feel awful, but I think the best solution is to just have some fun. You certainly won’t be able to fix things up while you’re feeling so down. You know, this reminds me of something that Tibby was telling me last night. She was feeling sad because...”

Reflective and observant, Trinket is the best source of information in Kitter Keep. Whenever someone’s feeling down at the Lantern, Trinket pours them a drink and invites them to talk about their troubles. She’s always willing to provide a listening ear, letting Kitters vent their troubles to her before giving them some excellent advice. Her counsel has almost never been wrong. Some Kitters have even suggested that she try hosting her own talk show.

However, Kitters should still be careful when confessing their personal problems to her. Although Trinket’s friendliness is genuine and her advice is helpful, one of her main weaknesses is that she can’t keep a secret. Anything said to her may end up being repeated to someone else that Trinket chats with. Her reputation as a source of information comes not only from her observant mind, but also the fact that everyone tends to pour out their troubles to her. Simply get her talking, steer the conversation in the direction of the person you want to know about, and let her gab all night long. If that person has talked to Trinket, then something is bound to be revealed.

Trinket; The Lantern Barkeeper

Trinket’s relationship with her little brother, Jerri, is currently strained due to the fact that she harbors a great amount of jealousy towards him. Before Jerri was born, everyone loved her for her ability to sing, leading her to begin dreaming of becoming a famous singer someday. When Jerri arrived, her dreams were crushed as he proved to be the better singer. Everyone, including her parents, turned their attention away from Trinket and to shower Jerri with admiration and love. In an attempt to win her parent’s attention back, Trinket worked to become a baker so that she could inherit the bakery. However, Jerri proved better at this too. In their parents eyes, Jerri could do no wrong. Trinket feels guilty for being bitter towards Jerri since he doesn’t even know he did anything, but she hasn’t learned to let go of her jealousy.

- Metal affinity

- Rarely drinks despite being a bartender

- Occasionally sings at the Lantern if Jerri isn’t there

- Wants a Felthurr, but doesn’t have enough money for one

- Terrified of Alge because she was once stung by a swarm as a child

- When she thinks she’s alone, Trinket likes to narrate to herself like she’s in a hardboiled detective novel

"Greetings. So you said you injured your leg, correct? Don't worry, I should have you fixed up in no time.”

Intelligent and determined, Aberdale has always enjoyed working in the medical field. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a medic for the Adventurer’s Guild. He wanted to explore far-away lands and help people all over the continent. However, an accident left him with a twisted leg that would never fully heal. The Adventurer’s Guild rejected his request to join, saying that though his skills were impressive, he would never be able to keep up with the rough life of the guild because of his injury. Instead, he had to settle for being Kitter Keep’s local doctor.

At first, Aberdale constantly searched for ways that he might prove himself able to

Aberdale; Doctor

Aberdale; Doctor

serve as a guild medic. He trained every day, working his injured leg in hopes of regaining full usage someday. When this failed, he searched for new medical treatments and even dabbled in superstition. All of these failed, however. He began to fall into despair because deep down, he knew that it was medically impossible for him to regain the usage of his leg.

One year, while Aberdale was visiting the Grand Forest in search of a treatment, he met an optimistic herbalist named Nimby. She brought cheer and joy back into his life, helping him to accept that though he'd never join the Adventurer's Guild, he could still help the citizens of Kitter Keep. The two became mates later that year. Today, Aberdale is content to serve as Kitter Keep’s doctor. He is surprisingly happy that he never got to join the Adventurer's Guild because he never would've met Nimby had his injury not occurred. Aberdale says that Nimby is the sunshine of his life and that he would sacrifice anything, including being in the Adventurer's Guild, just to be able to make her happy.

- Loves snow

- Bloom affinity

- Geography buff

- Dislikes spicy food

- Calls Nimby his “Sunshine”

- Has accidentally killed every plant he's tried to grow, including a cactus

- One of the few Kitters in Kitter Keep to reach the Mage level of elemental mastery

Anvil; Blacksmith

Anvil; Blacksmith

“Hello! Would you like to take a look around my forge? Maybe you’ll find something you like.”

Blunt-whiskered and strong, Anvil is built for smithing. A metal-affinity Kitter, he’s perfect for the forge and has been Kitter Keep’s blacksmith for as long as anyone can remember. Despite his skill at forging weaponry and the like, Anvil is actually a very gentle and friendly Kitter. He’s very good with Meeps, most likely a result of often taking care of his seven younger siblings. He often takes a break from metalworking to give Meeps flight rides.

Ever since he first saw someone create a work of art out of a shapeless hunk of metal, Anvil knew he wanted to be a blacksmith. He worked hard, repeating the same tasks again and again until he got them right. It was difficult and exhausting, but the thought of what he would someday be able to create kept him going. Now he’s a skilled and respected blacksmith, loving every moment of his life.

- Enjoys baking

- Often hums to himself while working

- Usually makes cast-iron pots and pans

- Despite his prowess at creating weapons, Anvil never actually learned how to properly use them.

Gobble; Fisher and Storyteller

“Did I ever tell you about the time I sailed the Clear Sea? It was the most dazzling, most beautiful, most glorious sight I ever laid my eyes on. Now this took place a couple decades ago, back when...”

Chatty and nostalgic, Gobble can often be seen peacefully fishing by the Pier or at Rock-A-Bye Bay with his friend, Guts. He’s quite friendly, but be careful when starting a conversation with him, as he has a tendency to start talking about his youth. His stories are filled with adventure and excitement, enthralling children and adults alike as they listen to a master storyteller tell of far-away lands. However, these stories can often take hours to tell, resulting in many Kitters using up all of their time before they even realize how long they’ve been listening to Gobble’s stories.

As a former member of the of the Adventurer’s Guild back in his youth, Gobble has seen nearly every corner of Ostaria. His job in the guild was to scout and map new territory. He has seen the untamed wilds, sailed the beauty of the Clear Sea, survived the chaos of Gomorrah, and scaled the mighty trees of the Grand Forest. There is little that he has not seen. Now that age has caught up with him, Gobble is content to simply fish with Guts and mull over his lifetime of adventures. He loves sharing the stories of these expeditions, often finding himself getting lost in the nostalgia of remembering his youth. Nearly everyone who hears these stories loves them despite their length.

Gobble; Fisher and Storyteller

“... ... ... ... yes?”

Quiet and thoughtful, Guts is usually seen fishing with Gobble while silently pondering. He seldom starts conversation and normally only answers questions with a simple “yes” or “no”. Sometimes bored Meeps like to make bets with each other to see who can get Guts to talk the most before he asks them to stop bothering him. As a result, little is actually known about Guts besides the fact that he was a former pirate. However, no one knows why he reformed, why he quit, or why he refuses to sail on any boat.

Some suspect that Guts may be a survivor of the Silent Ocean. Whenever anyone mentions the Silent Ocean to him, fear fills his eyes and he tells them to leave, saying that the Silent Ocean is something that no one should ever speak of. Gobble seems to know something about what happened to Guts, but all he will say is that it’s not his place to say what happened to Guts’ crew.

Rukk; Farmer

“Howdy! Welcome to Moonbrick Farm! So what brings ya to this part of town? Ah, yah wanted ta see one of mah comedy acts?”

Hardworking and funny, Rukk maintains Moonbrick Farm. Everyone in Kitter Keep knows Rukk for his reliable nature and hilarious jokes. Sometimes when he has time to spare, Rukk visits to the Lantern to perform stand-up comedy. Kitters looking for a good laugh come from all over town just to see these jovial shows.

In the past, Rukk did his comedy shows with his beloved wife, Mist. However, eight years ago, Rukk lost her to a deadly illness. He misses her dearly and visits her grave every year in remembrance of her. Rukk often speaks of her fondly, saying that she was “the

purtiest lass ah ever laid eyes on.” When asked why he continues the comedian shows without her, Rukk answers that Mist would’ve scolded him for stopping the shows just because she wasn’t there.

Rukk has three children who have all grown up and moved away from Kitter Keep. The intelligent eldest child, Nye, left to the Capital to work in the government. The brash middle child, Jett, moved to the Great Plains and joined the Stormchasers. The talented youngest, Lyric, left to the Grand Forest to become a singer.

Hekate; Magic Shopkeeper

“Let me help you with that! So have you seen our newest book on how to master your element? It just arrived yesterday. Oh! That reminds me, I haven't triple checked to see if we received enough copies of them!”

Compassionate and hardworking, Hekate always does her best to complete every task to the best of her ability. She's always working to maintain and improve the shop, keeping everything clean and organized. However, this           sometimes results in her overworking herself.

The main reason Hekate wanted to work at the magic shop was so that             she could have full access to the shop’s vast collection of books for free.         She loves studying magic and hopes to one day discern the secrets of            how magic works. Her close friend, Hazel, often compares notes with her      on the functions of magic. For many years, Hekate had a huge crush on          Hazel. Now that he's become mates with Rinley, Hekate has kept her            feelings hidden because she doesn't want to interfere with their relationship.

Hekate has secretly been studying the forbidden and taboo elements, including the element of Death. Hazel is the only person with whom she has shared this secret. She claims that she's studying them purely for science, but in reality, she finds them deeply fascinating and wonders what it would be like to have such power.

Flintwick; Carpenter

“Would you like a sculpture? No, no, there is no need to pay. Consider it a gift.”

Artistic yet serious, Flintwick is a former guard from the dreaded Clawtooth Islands. He dislikes talking about the islands, regret filling his face whenever he remembers the prison. Flintwick prefers to pour all of his time into his job and art, not wanting to dwell on his time at the islands or the terrible things he did as a guard…

While Flintwick’s job is to repair wooden structures and create tools, everyone in Kitter Keep knows him for the art he makes in his spare time. Imagination and passion for creating are poured into these wooden sculptures, turning into them into works of beauty that have the power to inspire and amaze. To the surprise of everyone, Flintwick rarely charges money for these sculptures. He says that he simply wants to know that his art is helping someone's day. The truth is that he hopes that helping people with his art will allow him to atone for what he's done in the past.
