Secondary Elements
Ink
Imaginative and thoughtful,
They are the creators and designers.
Innovative and bashful,
They are the artists and writers.
Introspective and curious, the element of ink is the most creative of all the elements. Kitters born with an affinity for ink have a reputation for being creative and philosophical. They can learn how to weave ink into living stories and moving pictures. These Kitters are known for often becoming master storytellers, artists, and philosophers.

Metal

Harsh and mighty are iron and steel,
They cannot be broken by any ordeal.
Precious and lovely are gold and platinum,
They can survive any cataclysm.
Stalwart and unwavering, the element of metal is perhaps the mightiest of elements in terms of strength. Kitters born with an affinity for metal have a reputation for being powerful warriors and possessing an iron will. They can learn to manipulate metal, sense precious metals like gold, and harden their skin into an armor-like covering.
Despite their fearsome reputation, most present-day metal affinity Kitters are quite peaceful and pleasant. After the last war on Ostaria, which took place over a century ago, these Kitters have worked hard to dispel the idea that they are only dumb brutes. Over the course of several decades, they held speeches and showed kindness. Due to this, they have gained a second reputation for having hearts of gold and silver tongues, their eloquent speech surpassed only by sin affinity Kitters.

Weather

Welcome sun and rain, these are theirs to command,
Their kindness warms our fur and waters our crops.
Beware hail and gusts, these are theirs to command,
Their wrath and rage shakes even the treetops.
Powerful and dangerous, the element of weather possesses extraordinarily potential for both beauty and destruction. Kitters born with an affinity for weather can learn to summon rain, sunlight, snow, and sandstorms. Due to an incident from several decades ago where an insane group of weather Kitters attempted to create a massive hurricane, weather Kitters have gained a reputation for being quite bipolar, wearing a sunny smile one minute and raging like a tornado the next. As a result, other Kitters usually do their best to keep these Kitters as happy as possible so that they don’t try to summon a tornado or blizzard.
Despite their destructive capabilities, most weather Kitters are not bipolar. They have been trying to show how even their dangerous powers, such as tornadoes and thunderstorms, can be useful. Plays often utilize weather Kitters abilities for special effects. Meteorologists study how these Kitters create weather so that they can better predict the weather. As of recently, some weather Kitters have even used their powers to create miniature tornadoes or tsunamis inside glass containers. Many Meeps like purchasing these “storm bottles” to show off to their friends.

Bloom
Pretty violets and sweet roses,
Magnificent colors abound.
Cheery daisies and petite tulips,
Majestic flowers surround.

Sweet and beautiful, the element of bloom is the loveliest and most gentle of all of the elements. Kitters born with an affinity for bloom have a reputation for being kind and in tune with nature. They can learn to grow pretty flowers even in the harshest conditions, communicate with forest creatures, and release calming scents that soothe the mind.
When a bloom affinity Kitter stays in a forest for a very long time, they slowly develop a bond with it. This bond allows them to sense things that happen in the forest and feel the state of the forest’s health. When the forest is at peace, they feel at ease. When the forest is harmed, they feel anxious and fearful. Bloom affinity Kitters consider this both a blessing and a curse, for while they possess great power in their home forest, traveling is difficult for them due to the fact that they feel troubled if they are far from the forest that they have developed a bond with. As a result, bloom affinity Kitters who want to avoid this feeling try not to stay in the same forest for more than a couple months so that their element doesn’t bond with the forest.
Smoke
When flames die and hopes fade,
Dreams turn to smoke, forgotten by most.
When passion ends and is unmade,
The smoke remains, the fire’s ghost.
Nostalgic and wistful, the element of smoke is the most sentimental of the elements. Kitters born with an affinity for smoke have a reputation for being idealists and having long memories. They can learn to create colored smoke, shape smoke, and even walk on clouds of smoke.
Kitters with an affinity for fire are considered to be linked with Kitters who possess an affinity for smoke. Fire affinity Kitters quickly grow passionate, but when their passion dies, they abandon the dream. Smoke affinity Kitters take much persuasion to become passionate about something, but once they develop a passion, they stay with it for the rest of their lives. Even when others have forgotten an ideal or dream, they pursue it, refusing to let it fade.

Ice
Delicate and graceful,
Snow is beautiful
Hard and spiteful,
Hail is frightful.
Elegant and fragile, the element of ice is the most refined of the elements. Kitters born with an affinity for ice have a reputation for being sophisticated, lovely, and nimble. They can learn to generate cold, skate flawlessly, and freeze any liquid. They love the feel of winter and snow, but often grow exhausted and irritable under the heat of the summer sun.
Be gentle when it comes to these Kitters feelings, for it is quite easy to hurt them emotionally. They can be quite spiteful when this happens, their wrath being like a raging blizzard. Unlike a water Kitter, whose rage is like a great wave that quickly subsides, ice Kitters have a tendency to hold long grudges.
Many ice-affinity Kitters dislike the stereotype of them being cultured people whose feelings are easily hurt. After all, many of them don’t even know how to act refined while others have learned not to let petty insults affect them.

Energy
Spinning, running, bouncing,
Always active, never stopping.
Mechanical, chemical, thermal,
Always productive, never tranquil.
Vibrant and tireless, the element of energy is the most spirited of all of the elements. Kitters who possess an affinity for this element hold a reputation for being indefatigable and lively. Never challenge an energy Kitter to see who can stay awake the longest. Their element allows them to work for several days without growing weary. They can also learn to manipulate and conjure pure energy.

Balance
Forget your fears,
Let your mind be at ease.
Forget your tears,
Let your mind be at peace.
Orderly and calm, the element of balance is the most harmonious of the elements. Kitters born with an affinity for this element hold a reputation for being very spiritual and disciplined. They can learn to grant peace of mind to others, lift objects with a mere thought, and restore order to chaos.
Kitters who possess an affinity for balance often find themselves uncomfortable around those with an affinity for ectoplasm. This is due to the fact that the element of ectoplasm defies the natural order of science by drawing power from the spiritual realm. The element of balance hates disorder and chaos, resulting in balance Kitters feeling anxious and worried when an ectoplasm Kitter uses their powers for unnatural purposes. This can make it quite difficult for Kitters of these two elements to become friends. However, it isn’t impossible.

Luck
Chance is fickle and quick to change,
Sunshine and fortune may come in an instant.
Fate is unpredictable and often strange,
Rain and poverty may come in a moment.
Adventitious and fortunate, the element of luck is the quickest to change of all of the elements. Kitters who are born with this element hold a reputation for being lucky in everything they do. They can learn to calculate odds instantly with no effort, grant bad luck, and even manipulate probability itself. Some consider them to be the most powerful Kitters of all.
Despite their element’s great potential, these Kitters often dislike it. The element of luck is the only element that will occasionally betray its bearer. Some days, the Kitter will have unusually good luck. Other days, however, it they will possess unnatural bad luck. The days that luck decides to aid these Kitters is completely up to chance. Only Kitters who have attained full mastery of their element as a mage can force their element to always work in their favor.

Electricity
Crackling with power, booming with authority,
Few can match thunder’s strength.
Swifter than wind, hotter than fire,
None can match lightning’s speed.
Bright and boisterous, the element of lightning is the swiftest of all of the elements. Kitters who possess an affinity for this element have a reputation for loving speed and thrills. They can learn to conjure electricity, summon thunder from the skies, and run with unmatched speed.
A curious quirk about these Kitters is their love for thunder. When they see lightning in a storm, they feel an indescribable urge to chase the lightning. This urge can easily be resisted, but never fully suppressed. It lies within in their souls, begging to be satisfied. Those who choose to chase the lightning find that as long as the storm rages, their steps are as swift as wind and their hearts are filled with joy. Nothing makes them feel as free as when they chase the lightning. After the storm ends, the urge fades.

Explosives
Boom and pop! What was that?
Order and pattern? They know no such thing!
Broom goes flop! Reason goes splat?
Who can discern if they know what they’re doing?
Impulsive and dramatic, the element of explosives is the most unpredictable of the elements. These Kitters have a reputation for being quite erratic. No one really knows what to expect from these Kitters. Some are peaceful, wishing that they weren’t accidentally blowing things up with their minds. Others are very eager to see if it is possible for everything to explode, including grass and water. Many are extremely loud and dramatic. Then there are those who are so orderly, quiet, and disciplined that some believe it must be an act.
Most people already know that these Kitters can learn how to blow things up. However, not many realize that explosive affinity Kitters can also learn how to reverse explosions and cause implosions. Explosive affinity Kitters are considered valuable in mining operations not for their ability to cause explosions, but for their power to limit them. Should the miners encounter explosive gas, a skilled explosive affinity Kitter can contain the explosion, turning a massive blast that would destroy the caverns into a tiny, harmless firecracker pop.
