Glow
Who needs a flashlight when you can glow?
Learning: When a Kitter first learns to glow, they must relax, concentrate on searching for the inner light within themselves, and try to reach for it with their minds. Once they feel their inner light, all they have to do is “push” it out of their body, resulting in them glowing. Although this ability requires a great amount of focus when it is first learned, it only takes a couple weeks of practice for it to become as easy to use as breathing.
Usage: Glowing has a large variety of uses, including lighting up dark caves so that miners avoid stepping into danger, illuminating dark forests on the Adventurer’s Guild’s search and rescue missions, providing light for reading at night, ect.
Limitations: Maintaining this ability for long periods of time can be quite tiring for a light affinity Kitter, despite it not being difficult to use. Using the ability for several hours is akin to holding a two pound weight for several hours; it’s easy to do for an hour, but difficult to hold for longer periods of time. Additionally, this ability only allows Kitters to glow as bright as a torch. Attempting to glow brighter will result in failure and exhaustion.
Truth Detection
A built-in lie detector

Learning: To learn this ability, a Kitter must learn to attune their senses to detect the truth. They can do this through two methods. The most commonly used and easiest method is to simply have someone tell them lies and truths. Through constant practice, the Kitter can learn how to “feel” the truth. At first, the difference between lie and truth. After a few weeks of practice, however, the Kitter will be able tell a lie from the truth without any effort.
Usage: This ability is mainly used by judges and therapists. Judges use this ability to determine if the defendant or prosecutor is lying while therapists use it to help them understand their patient better. Additionally, many Kitters use it for everyday life to see if their friends or family are telling them the truth.
Limitations: Half-lies can confuse this ability due to the fact they have some truth in them.
Hologram
Is it there.. or is it not?

Learning: Creation of a hologram often depends on the creativity of a kitter, the more creative the individual the easier it is to create small holograms. A hologram must be something familiar to the kitter who is trying to summon it, such as a sourpine, which teachers often bring in to help students get a real picture of what they are trying to simulate. To create a hologram imagine an unseen part of yourself rising from the end of your forearm, imagine it taking form in light, small particles of pure energy rising from your body and forming into the item of your choosing. Keep practicing the creation of the same hologram until it becomes as natural as breathing, then try to create holograms of different items. To attempt anything too large without proper training and practice, this causes a strain on your magic and can result in great pain.
Usage: Holograms are used often for storytelling, as well as
Limitations: A hologram must be in sight of its host at all times. If a kitter strays too far from its hologram or does not watch it, failure is imminent. The hologram will poof away and often times causes the Kitter a headache from overconcentration. Holograms also do not have a physical presence and are quite hard to animate, even for higher-ranking magic users. Movement of a hologram made to look like something organic is difficult, and for some it is never obtainable.
Forcefield
Shield the helpless and protect the innocent!
Learning: Fueled by emotion, this ability can be nearly impossible for some to learn while being extremely easy for others. This is because loyalty is required to generate a barrier of light. To learn this ability, a Kitter must learn to focus on the sensation of loyalty. They must imagine what they would do if the people they care for were in danger. The feeling of wanting to protect the people they care for is what creates a forcefield.
Usage: This ability is incredibly useful for explorers, miners, and other Kitters who work in dangerous areas, as it allows them to protect themselves and others from accidents that would normally be fatal.
Limitations: Maintaining a forcefield for a long period of time is extremely taxing on a Kitter’s stamina. Every Kitter has a different limit for how long they can hold a forcefield, with the average ranging from ten to fifteen minutes if the forcefield is not struck. Maintaining a forcefield for too long or having one broken by a powerful blow can result in magical burnout.

Sense Favorite Thing
Requirements: Truth Sense
Learning: Pressing a limb against another’s forehead a kitter may focus their mind, close their eyes and focus on their own favorite people, places, feelings or experiences. Warmth, emotional or physical must also be a present thought. Pushing it into their limb they will actually feel it heat up-this is how they know the magic is working. Through direct contact the user will receive small images and feelings, memories and clear imagery becoming a part of the kitters memory. These memories and feelings can never be truly forgotten.
Usage: This ability is used to help get to know a kitter better, soothe stressed or hurting kitters with fond memories to discuss. Giving a kitter a gift they would like can be a hassle, understanding what is their favorite removes some of their stress. Parents also use this on meeps to understand their favorite toys or activities.
Limitations: Only shows a single favorite experience, object or memory. Repeated attempts will not show any new information, what is seen holds significance for one reason or another. Even when favorites change the experience previously given will always be what is received.
Heal
Requirements: Forcefield
Learning: Simple to learn, difficult to use effectively. The act of healing with magic is associated with purity, kind memories, gentle touches, and the soft kiss of sunlight. Filling the mind with pleasant thoughts a light affinity kitter gains the ability to heal the wounds of themselves and others, placing their limb(or any part of their body really, limbs are just the most common) against the wound directly. With the application of memories they must allow their magic to wrap around their body where it touches the wound, forcing it out to heal. At first wounds will only heal slowly, but with training small cuts and bruises may be healed in seconds without leaving scars.
Usage: Traveling poses lest of a risk, doctors become more effective, violence becomes reversible-healing is an incredibly useful ability for reasons that are obvious. Amongst wild life abilities this ability is also highly adored to reduce animal suffering.
Limitations: Only works on small cuts, bruises and the sort. Large wounds require lots of time, energy, and still leave scars unlike small wounds. Using too much energy on large wounds is common, and light affinity kitters have accidentally knocked themselves out on many occasions. Ability works best on kitters due to their magical essence, it still works on animals but at a far less effective rate, scarring is also a given.
Invisibility
Requirements: Hologram
Learning: Using the same magic as a hologram, a kitter must summon their magic to hide their body. By drawing out their magic and allowing it to cloak them a kitters body gives the illusion of pure light, which naturally reacts to match the spectrum of the light around it, deeming the kitter ‘invisible.’ The brighter or more colorful the area the easier this ability is to uphold, spanning for hours in the right situation. In the dark this ability might not even work, but more advanced users can force it to however only for small bursts of time.
Usage: Hunters often times use this ability to remain unseen by prey, needing to focus on being quiet over hiding. This ability is also used to get to one place or another without interaction by those with social anxiety, opening up a whole new world of possibilities. However it has also been used for criminal activity.
Limitations: Ability cannot be used within areas that are too dark, due to being based in light. This ability is taxing, and can fault without notice, exposing the invisible kitter without enough magic to resume the ability.
Create Light Orb
Requirements: Glow
Learning: Summoning their baby ability, a light-affinity may focus on controlling it. Instead of small firefly-like lights floating about randomly, they must harness the simple light energy and pull the fireflies together. Combining them, they must ‘pull’ the now singular orb to change its size, and as a result light output. The orb directly feeds off the users energy, and naturally ‘attaches’ to the body, by brushing to a near touching point from where it is summoned, it may be moved. Eventually, with practice the user will not need to summon their baby ability to create the orb and may simply summon and enlarge it to their will.
Usage: A bright sphere used to brighten a dark environment, which is used in any situation where there is a lack of light. Used temporarily to maneuver a dark house, caves, forests, or to simply illuminate a puppet show. Simple but useful ability.
Limitations: The sphere does not hold a physical presence, and must always be near the kitter that summoned it as it feeds off the magic. When not being used at its full potential it can last for hours. When being used to produce a significant amount of light it may only last twenty or so minutes.
