Lightning Reflexes
Learning: Whenever a Kitter is hurt or surprised, they rely on their reflexes to save them. Electricity affinity Kitters can learn to channel their element into this reflex, granting them the ability to unnaturally swift speed whenever they’re startled. One of the ways a Kitter can learn this is by having someone throw an object for them to dodge. By learning to channel electricity into their reflexes, they can eventually gain the ability to dodge nearly anything thrown at them.
Usage: Useful in nearly any dangerous situation a kitter can find themselves escaping in even the most death-defying situations. Many account to seeing almost unnatural looking getaways from kitters who have mastered this ability. Meeps also enjoy this ability when friends attempt to sneak up on them or prank them in various ways.
Limitations: Hard to master to the point a kitter doesn’t need to focus to use this ability. Oftentimes causes kitters to trip or run into things if they are not used to this ability; kitters have even sprained ankles with quick attempts at getaways.
Sense Electromagnetic Fields
Learning: Sensing electromagnetic fields is more of a natural sense than it is an ability that must be sought out and practiced. From a young age an electric affinity kitter will feel their whiskers tingle in the presence of strong electromagnetic fields. Seeking out electromagnetic fields is as simple as looking for a physical object, the kitter must focus on seeking out these fields, and will be able to follow them like an invisible map once familiar to them.
Usage: When mastered electromagnetic fields can be used like an invisible map, making getting lost almost impossible. Traveling in the dark also loses its risks of getting lost, and even travel through the sky for those with wings becomes easy.
Limitations: Without mastering this ability it won’t be very useful, leaving electric affinity kitters aware of the invisible fields but unable to do much with this information. Actually using this ability to map and maneuver requires practice over the months.
Electric Resistance
Learning: Static electricity on a kitter's body may be altered with minor magic tweaking to form a small barrier, which protects the magic user from electricity to a certain extent. Simple to form and hold up, a kitter must simply push some of their internalized magic outside their body where it will naturally combine with static electricity already on the body of the kitter.
Usage: Protection when dealing with remnants of technology, being outside in storms, and avoiding wounds caused by other Electric-affinity kitters. As it is so easy to uphold, many even apply this magic through sleep.
Limitations: Low-level magic users often times get headaches from straining this ability for too long, or even shock themselves with misuse of the ability. Other kitters may also get mild shocks if physical contact is made with a kitter with this ability in use, though mage level kitters can avoid this through training.
Spark Ball
Learning: Kitters must imagine drawing out electricity from within themselves, pulling out a ball of pure electrical energy. Some like to imagine the static electricity on their body gathering into one source, pulling all of it into a single sphere. The sphere itself looks like a pale blue orb full of static electricity, though the magical ‘casing’ is easily destroyed or passed through. This sphere may be thrown, moved, wasted, or drawn back into the body - accidental shocking is almost guaranteed.
Usage: Basic defense, shocking friends, and simply impressing passersby, simple spark balls are simple acts of wonder and mischief that can be used for good as much as bad. More daring electric affinity meeps will ‘throw’ spark balls at each other in turn, and try to catch the other meep's ball of electricity without getting electrocuted. This practice is not recommended.
Limitations: Mild electrical burns and shocks are expected with this ability until well-practiced. Exhaustion is a common side-effect if too much electricity is attempted to be summoned, or if a kitter spends too much magic without electricity to warp.
